Three Favorite Subjects

Intro
My school is a private school.  We are a very small.  We do not have many classrooms so we use the library instead.  We use  it for typing\language arts and history.  We used to have an art class.  Math, sciences, and block topics are taught in the older kid classroom.  My three favorite subjects in school are art, history, and math.

Art
Art is a subject that we don't do any more, but I still like it. The person who taught us is called Kelly Coyle.  We would get taught in the library, every Tuesday.  We had it for about an hour  twice a week. The 8th graders would go up to the class, then the next week the 6th and the 4th graders would get art.  Art was fun and there were no right or wrong answers.  I enjoyed that there was no homework for that class.  It was special.  I learned how to draw fast. then erase and add all the details and corrections later.   I also learned to draw the same thing in different ways.   I also learned how hard it is to draw with my left hand.  I miss art class.

History
We get taught on Mondays and Wednesdays  for History.   The person who teaches us history is called Gail Crosby. History is about an hour and 45 minutes long.  On Mondays, the 6th and 4th graders go first.  Then the 8th graders go up first on Wednesday. Gail has been teaching us about Rome lately.  But so far we’ve learned about ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece this year, too.  My favorite thing that I studied in history is Greece.  My favorite thing I learned about was a really old stone structure with no doors that they built in Mesopotamia.   I had fun building ancient structures out of legos.  I built a maze with a minotaur and the city of Olympia. I also like doing art with history.  Painting the Greek pottery for the Olympics that our class did was really fun.  I like knowing about history and learning about its puzzles.

Math
Math is my favorite subject.  Ben York, our main teacher, teaches us math. He teaches us math every day.  The main reason I like math is because it exercises my brain so much. It is a really important thing to learn that I know I will use a lot in the future.   Other people don’t like math, but I do.  I am the only kid in my class that likes math.

Conclusion

At Salmon Creek School my favorite topics are art, history, and math.  Art is fun and easy.  I miss expressing myself in art class.  History is fascinating and good to know  Math is technical and interesting.  I enjoy all the classes at my school but these are the three that I like the mos.

  1. Jonathan, well organized, well written, and you give me good reasons to understand what you like and why.
